I ended up buying a new drive pulley, but eventually I got the old pulley apart.
Here is how I took it apart: 1. Remove the 6 screws on the cover plate. (spring will be pushing against it) 2. Remove cover plate, cover and spring. 3. Knock out the 3 roll pins in the triangle. 4. Brace the starter pulley (I used ratchet straps and quick grips) 5. Rotate triangle plate (and pulley half) clockwise (left-hand thread) Turning the triangle plate was not easy on mine. A custom spanner wrench would have been useful, but I was stuck using a hammer with with a punch, to put the force on the tips of the tirangle With everything apart you could replace/repair parts, assuming you can find or make them. |
