Default 295cc exhaust options

I believe my exhaust may be having issues. It's pretty loud and kind of sounds like it has a leak. I read somewhere that a clogged exhaust can cause the engine to release oil into the air filter through the crank case vent. Is there a way to check to see if it is clogged or leaking? A new muffler runs $300+, so if there was a more economical option to using a different muffler that would help.

I'll let you know. I want to figure out if it is really the exhaust before investing much in the exhaust. Still looking for ways to determine if it is clogged or leaking.

I doubt it's clogged Joe, more of a problem on two cycles from the oil/gas mix.

I guess i'll be checking for leaks then, thanks. I need to get some incense sticks that let off a little smoke, then I can go around the exhaust gaskets...at least I think that would work.
