Hey guys
I was wondering about the Monroe 31176 shocks. Do you need to install these with extenders? If so what extender will fit? I have 2 sets that won't thread on the end of the shock.

Thanks for the pic. My springs go under the axle so I need to cover 19-19.5 inches. So I'll need extensions. I Found the specs for the Monroe. It's 3/8-16 thread pitch. Just ordered extenders from Amazon. These are twice as stiff as stock ds shocks. Should tighten up the rear real nice. The new springs already fell like night and day.

I had another dumb question. When putting on the shocks, should I jack the cart up and let the axle hang? I'm thinking this will let the shock fully extend so when I let the cart down it will be a little compressed. I'm worried I will over compress the shock if I install on the ground.

Install the shocks however you want. Shocks have no springs unless they are the coilover type used in the rear of Yamahas. They are a hydraulic dampener with a little gas pressure inside to help keep the oil from foaming under hard use. They only control the spring action up and down and add nothing to spring rate or ride height.

They are designed to be compressed and extended thousands of times during their service life.
