96 txt 36V goes forward no reverse
My daughter ran the batteries down to 29v. Charged it up The cart worked fine but a couple days later after she was driving for a while it would go forward but not reverse I immediately thought controller. The Solenoid clicks the orange wire has power going to the controller but no reverse.. I checked all connections a few were a little loose I tightened them. nothing.. I have another txt that I have not run and don't know if it did run because it came without batteries.. I pulled the controller hooked it up and no reverse, it does the exact same thing the solenoid clicks.. Now I know its possible to have 2 bad controllers but I'm hoping it's something else... Any ideas.. As far as i know the switch is good because im getting power to the orange wire to the controller... Anyhting else I can try? Thanks in advance

Series drive cart with rotary F&R switch? If yes it may be the switch.

The orange wire coming from the reverse switch has power when in the Reverse position.. That wire leads to the controller.. So I thought that meant the switch is good ?

That means the micro switch is good but the rotary switch contacts may be bad.

If PDS then yes, you could have a bad control if no reverse when power to pin 2 on plug J1

Series, Orange wire only activates 1/2 speed reverse, not the reverse operation.
Try tightening the 9/16 center pivot shaft nut on the cart's rear side of the F&R. Lack of contact here is the likely culprit. |

If it's a series it almost has to be the forward and reverse switch or the large wires coming from it.
