Default Disk Brake Issue

Put on AUSCO's disk brake kit on my EZGO about a year ago. Worked fine until the last few weeks. My cart has a 2 inch lift on the rear. **My lazy a*** hasn't taken the wheels off to check and see if the pads are worn out so that may be the problem, checking that tonight. Have made multiple attempts to adjust the brake cable with results that last until the first time I use the brakes and then the brakes go back to almost non-functional. Any suggestions?

Hard to believe you could ware the pads out in a year. Do you drive it on the street? I don't have an answer for you, but I want to hear how it goes as I was thinking of getting those brakes. I'm sure someone will help you. Let us know what works.

1.8 miles by road each way to club house in neighborhood. Cart is pretty fast (34mph). Brakes worked great until recently - may coincide with my daughter's increased use of it.

Wow, that is fast! How old is your daughter? If she's 12-15, that's the reason. My grand daughter is the same way.

The brake pads dont wear all the way to the metal before replacement is needed.

Sounding like she needs some new "pads".

I had a heck of a time getting them adjusted in the beginning, but great since. If they worked for a year then the pads must be worn or the lever broke or the cable(s) broke.
talking about kids driving with two feet thats my daughter....need to check my pads today.

Finally got under the cart this weekend. Pads have plenty of life. Tightened the brake cables as far as they could go. Braking is better, but not great. Is it possible my brake cables have stretched?

I don't know if it's an issue with disc pads but glazing of drum pads is pretty common. They may need a light sanding to break the glaze.
