Default Alltrax (inconsistant Amps) Need an opinion

Hey guys - I want to see if anyone can tell me why my AMPS are all over the place. I ran the monitor feature on the Alltrax software with the rear end lifted of the ground. The results I am getting at any stage of throttle are boucing all over the place. Could this simply be bad batteries?

I would love it if someone could take a look at the video below and let me know your thoughts. I have to figure this thing out before wifey cuts my brake line

(The batteries are the PD Plus batteries from Club Car with a date of Feb 2013)

Looks normal to me, You must have the rpm limit set to 6,000rpm.

If you had the mass of the cart on the road, the variations would not be that dramatic, but without any load, the reactions to speed change are more pronounced.

Like Sergio said, get it on the ground and things should be fine.

The controller is trying to keep to motor under the rev limit, while you are giving a throttle input asking the controller for more speed.

You are lucky it has the rev limiter, if you had done that in a series cart it could have over reved to the point of destruction.

Any reason the cart pulsates while on the street. When the amps drop out, like in the video, the cart loses power.

Stock settings on my XCT500 caused my cart to seem to stutter. Like it couldn't maintain a set speed. It was either speeding up or slowing down. Tweaking the throttle curve fixed that in mine

Thanks man - when you say throttle curve was it more "speed" or the "torque" you changed?

I watched you video at least three times, all I ever saw was the controller limiting the motor. The battery voltage seemed ok. The motor amps and volts varied at lot but off the ground that could be normal.

If the cart is really losing power while driving I would check your contactor, and go peddle microswitch and all your connections. Are you getting any error codes when the "amps drop out"?

It could just be responding to fast to go peddle changes. I had to dial back the throttle ramp rate on both my carts. Going over bumps would cause my foot to lift and drop back enough on the peddle to cause surging/oscillation.

Adjusting the throttle ramp rate or the throttle curve could fix it.

Thanks Revolution - I will give that a try. Would that have any effect on the in dash volt read. It was dropping yesterday to 33v for a split second (48v set up).

That sounds like a lose connection somewhere, Or possibly a contactor dropping out. Check ALL of your connections.

I think You may have a bad cell based on a previous thread about one of the batteries dropping considerably more than the others.

You can verify that by monitoring one battery at the time while driving.

Also, can You post screen shots of your throttle rate and speed/torque curves?

As revolution mentioned, if the throttle rate is too high, it will put the motor way out of its efficiency range, if the speed curve is too agressive, it will be jerky with small throttle changes, torque curve needs to be smooth or it can cause torque bumps.
