You've got the charger amps pretty well figured out, but I'd contact US Battery and ask if the Lester charger(s) you are considering are, in fact, capable of properly charging US Battery brand batteries.

Johnnie what does USB do that makes their batteries have elevated voltage?

The recamendation is 10 to 13 percent. In your case that's 17 to 22 amps. The 19.5 sounds good to me.

I don't know, or at least I haven't figured it out yet.

Using a higher concentration of sulfuric acid will up the cell voltage, but according to the attached charts, US Battery uses a lower concentration than Trojan. I guess that means US Battery uses different chemistry in the plates.

Whatever it is, it is not limited to just US Battery vs Trojan. My DPI charger has different charge algorithms for US Battery, Trojan, Exide and Full River, and Trojan has the lowest voltages for the absorption and float stages.

Here is a link to Lester Chargers that will help with the correct amp rating on battery amp rating.

If you buy one of the chargers linked to, be sure to tell them you have US Battery batteries.

It appears they have brand/model specific charge algorithms.
