I know and we have all told him as much previously to him asking about PDS controls, so I assume he is educated and moving forward? But it never hurts to double check. See my previous post.

If I were to buy the DCX400PDS controller, what performance changes would I expect to see out of the card (tourqe, speed, etc...)?

30 % increase in torque and 24 mph ASUMMING :
you convert the cart to PDS which as posted requires PDS motor, controller, F&R, and wiring.

What performance increase should I expect if I only replaced the controller and no PDS motor, controller, F&R, and wiring upgrades?

Haha I read it the way you did also at first. But I think he is asking what if he just replaced the controller with a series controller.

The clue was the second part was, when he said not replacing the motor and "pds controller"

Or, maybe, just a "what if", he installed a "sepex controller" in his "series" cart, and totally ignored the existince of the field terminals on the controller, only using the "M-" terminal? (hey, it would make choosing a field map easier!)
I'm not volunteering myself as the guinea pig on that. Anyone ever heard of that happening? I suppose a "field open" code would be the result.

Sorry if I am not being clear. I have a series controller oem now, and just wanted to see what would happen if I replaced the controller only, without any other modifications.
I guess I was just asking, would it be worth the money for the torque gains if I only replaced my oem Series controller with an aftermarket?

I believe that if you replace the controller with a higher amp series controller, you will increase the torque. This will allow it to go up a hill faster. It will not go faster Top speed.

If you replace it with a higher amp series controller and up the voltage, it will go faster in both cases. (Up hill and top speed) but then you need a new charger.

The other option is installing taller tires. That will increase top speed, but your torque will go down. (Slower on the hill)

If anybody sees an error in my info, feel free to correct me.
