Default rxv charger only goes to 80 %?

2010 RXV, with 1 year old trojan batteries.

Batteries are great, clean, all connections are tight.

When i plug in the cheap powerwise toaster charger in, both green lites will blink ( charger and cart).

So i leave it overnite, charging. In the morning, charger is solid green and so is cart green lite solid.

Then i turn key on, and gauge only goes to 3/4. I plug my scanner in, and shows voltage is 80%.

Cart runs fine, etc, but just isn't charging 100%. What do you think is going on??

Thanks

Anyone experience this before on an RXV ?

If so, what was the problem, and what was the fix?

What is 3/4 ??? What is 80 % ???

Most us us can't help you with this as it requires us to guess what you are referancing... Post real life voltage numbers as I've yet to meet a bar graph gauge or dial that can show me .1 differences.

A rxv factory fuel gauge, looks similar to a car gauge,.

This one is suppose to peg to the right when it is fully charged. But it only goes to 3/4 of the way up.

As I said, when i plug the scanner in, it tells you the voltage. This says 80 %.

what is it that you are not understanding here? If it was 100 % charged, when i plugged in the scanner, it would say 100 %?/

He's looking for real voltage numbers as measured with a digital multimeter.

I don't know perhaps the gauge is faulty? I do not know what the scanner hooks up to perhaps it too is getting a faulty reading? This is why I asked you to post some REAL voltage numbers perhaps taken with a digital multi-meter? Everything in these carts revolves around the batteries start by checking their voltage and work outward from there...

This is exactly what we are trying to determine if it is or if it is not fully charged and if perhaps you are getting a faulty reading from somewhere... But until you can actually provide state of charge or voltage readings taken directly from the batteries with a voltage meter we don't have a clue what to chase do we?

If you can't provide a voltage number then I can't help you as I don't know a lot about EZGO and at this point I'm the only one trying....

The RXV fuel gauge is totally based on battery voltage, but on a "weighted scale" based on load. Its gauge reads pretty accurate if it has decent batteries to judge SOC. It considers 20% as Zero, and stops all driving at 15%, total shut down.
