Default quick questions

Ok 1st question is, is the cart I am working on a 36 volt or 48 volt cart.
Also, would having 10 inch knobby tires on the back affect up hill speed?
Here is the story.

I hooked up some battery's in a Ez-go cart last week for a lady down the road.
The lady was complaining her cart got slow, someone else told her get battery's. I got involved because she was sold a good set of the 12 volt Agm battery's cheap and I was afraid the person that helping her would hook it up wrong. Turns out he would have as he thought they would all go in series just like the 6's were wired!
She also had a bad cable end that was almost burnt in 2.

It had 6 6 volt battery's and was wired as 36 volt cart. The battery's were 1-10 so they are 6 years old.

I have her cart wired so it is getting it's 36 volts and when I test drove the thing it would scat along quick on a level paved road. it has 10 inch knobby tires on the back. I think this would directly affect it's "uphill" torque but I am not sure, That is why I am asking questions.
But she is saying "oh but it slows down going up hills just as it did before"
Well, It is my experience they all kinda slow down a bit.All mine do anyway. She just bought the thing recently and has no experiance with carts.
But I wanted to confirm that some one had not set it up 36 volt when it could be a 48 volt cart,as in wrong battery's before she bought it.
So here are the numbers and info as emailed to me.

Textron precision drive System
Serial # 2262196
Model TXTPDS
She said she thought it was a 2005 or 2006

I think right off the bat it is a 96 model,not a 2006

I brought the old 6 volt battery's home and put them in my old 40 dollar clunker cart and gave them a charge and I can dig a ditch in the driveway with the rear tire and it has plenty of power.

Serial # indicates 2005 TXT standard 36v PDS. This is the link to find year and model: https://shop.ezgo.com/customer-servi...ialNumber.html

According to EZGO's website it is a :

Make: TXT
Type: Electric 36 V
Model: TXT Standard (PDS)
Year: 2005

So the 36V is correct

You mean 10" rims not tires I assume?? If it had 10" tires on say 8" rims it would have plenty of torque.

10 inch wheels! Sorry about that.

12 volt agm battery's less than 1 year old.Don't have the exact name of them but they have 300 something on them.Data safe is the name on the 1's I am useing. .Also used the HEAVY cables from the memory back up machine. I would say they are welding cable size.
There is a local fellow that works on machines that use up to 40 of these.
I use them myself with good service for the money.
The set I swapped in my dads cart 2 weeks ago had been in there since december 2013 and used very hard. 120 bucks with cores.
4 were bad,2 still good for other purposes like my electric tractors.
