Default Help please

I am helping a buddy with his 1996 Ezgo 36V DCS cart. He has replaced the controller with Alltrax DCX400 and the motor with an off brand motor with a speed sensor. When you take off in forward or reverse the cart shutters bad like something in the rear end/motor is not meshing. When the cart is jacked up and the rear wheels are turned by hand everything is free. Is it possible that the motor in WRONG??? Can you install a motor with a speed sensor in a cart without that option? THANKS

What is your pack voltage? Resting and while driving?

Voltage sounds good, check all the high current connections for anything loose or corroded.

If you could get some alligator clips and get a reading while driving may help identify the problem.

The motor may be okay for this cart, it would help if you could identify the motor. Too bad he doesn't have an in dash digital battery meter so we could get a pack reading when the cart is shuddering - sounds like a battery problem.
