Rear light issue EZGO TXT

Hello all, I have been using this forum for awhile but first time poster. I have a 2008 ezgo txt cart with a basic light kit w/ turn signals. Last week, the driver's side rear LED light went out. I figured it was just a burnt out light. However, the light only does not work when all the cart lights are on. It works just fine as a turn signal and brake light when the lights are off. However, once I flip the light switch, that light goes dark and doesn't light up at all anymore. I am hoping it is a simple fix as I am limited in my repair skills but have been learning with the help of this forum. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like bad ground. I should say ground lead as there really is no ground on a electric cart.

If the turn signal and brake light is working, then i would think the ground is fine. You only have 1 ground wire that feeds the tail lite assembly.

I would use some wire piercing probes, and jumper 12 volts to each wire on the tail lite to see if the tail lite section will light up. If it doesn't, then you need to replace the entire assembly. i would do that before i spent alot of time trying to run down any wiring.

Good suggestion from someone who has been there before I can tell. I have too. Bypassing suspect wires is a way to confirm a wire is good or bad without much effort. If it works with a temporary wire, install a new wire to the assembly.

Thanks for the responses. I am hoping to work on it a bit tonight. This is why I love this forum, the help is endless. I will post an update once I get to work on it and can hopefully get it solved. Thanks again!
