Default EZGO TXT Rear Body 1/4" Rivets

Guys, does anyone have a suggestion on how to install the rear body 1/4" rivets that hold body to frame at the rocker area? I can not find a rivet gun that goes larger than 3/16" rivets. Also does anyone have a detailed list that shows which rivet in the EZGO TXT rivet kit goes where? I saw the thread that shows the sizes but looking for possibly a drawing that shows the actual rivet and where it goes.

I used a hand-held Rivet gun I got from Harbor freight. It works decently.

I do not have a detailed diagram of which rivets go where.

Skip, hf has a rivet gun that will handle the 1/4" rivets. It's got two handles and is blue. I don't remember what it cost, but it was pretty cheap. I went back and forth on buying their pneumatic one, or even buying anything from there at all. I used it to do most of the rivets in my rebuild but had to get a smaller one to get into the area below the steering wheel. I did have to take the blue one apart a couple of times but it got me through. Many guys have said the pneumatic one works well, does all sizes, and gets into all areas.

Word of caution on the blue one from hf: it wants to jump a bit when the rivet pops. I learned the hard way and put a bit of a scratch in my new body. I taped the area around where I was riveting the rest of the way and had no more problems.

I've got the parts manual for my 2001 that shows which rivets go where but I won't be home until tomorrow. If you still need it then, message me with your email, and I'll send it to you.

I personally have the exact same rivet gun as the other two guys, and I bought it when I did my first cart, works like a champ.

I have one of these that does up to 1/4" rivets. After popping the rivet the stud falls down into a container. https://www.amazon.com/Astro-1423-13...4%7CB00HZBX1OO Note that this type of rivet gun takes quite a bit of room and doesn't work well in confined spaces. Both handles swing out to about 45°.

You don't have to use rivets just because the factory did!

Its a time and cost thing at the factory!

Just sayin

I have the HF 3/16 pneumatic rivet gun and love it. Is it the best quality out there ? No but I have put in a bunch of rivets and my forearms thank me for it. Where the 1/4 rivets go in the body I usually use one of the rivets made for the dash with a washer behind it or just put a 1/4-20 bolt in

I have a manual rivet gun called the Big Daddy and that works fantastic.
