Yes it is the DS model. I contacted the dealer prior to ordering and they stated they would send the correct setup but did not happen. All is good now, as I made my own roof supports from my old rear seat frame. Works perfect!

This picture shows the rear roof supports I made out of my old rear seat. Works perfectly! Just going to tear back into it and paint all roof supports now. Anyone have tips on painting the aluminum?

This is with the roof supports that I received with my order.

Yeah, definitely not for a early 90s DS. My '99 rear seat kit had the rear struts closer together (more in the middle of the cart) and the roof supports turned outwards (left and right) to support the top.

As far as paint, I used Rustolem black metal primer and then sprayed them with duplicolor truck liner coating. But I think any good aerosol paint meant for metal would be just fine. I think I used 2 coats on top of 1 coat of primer. Been holding up fine for a year now and I travel a lot through the woods beating them up good.

EDIT: I also painted the aluminum trim surrounding the front cowl the same way.

Nice job fabricating your roof brackets.
Here is one opinion on painting, wash first with soap and water, dry thoroughly. Then sand with 220 or rough it up a little with steel wool. Then I wipe it down with denatured alcohol, or lacquer thinner and paint away. I really like Krylon paints, and I would do a primer coat or two and then two coats of semigloss black.
Very light coats will give you the best finish.

Good luck,
Aflyer
