Ezgo roof weight limits
I have a portable roof strap system that attaches to the ezgo txt roof very nicely. I use it to bring my 6-7 foot surfobards to the beach with no problem.
The system is designed for paddleboards on vehicles. My wife asked why we dont ever put paddleboards on the roof of the cart. So question is what is the recommended weight limit of the ezgo roof/roof supports? My surfboards are extremely lite. The paddleboards- not so much they run about 30 lbs each. What do you guys think? Is two (60lbs) too much, or is even one too much? |

not sure of the style roof and supports you have on your cart , but I had no problem with my 12' kayak (? 50 lbs ?) on top on my CC DS

Good call, I attached a photo. This isnt my cart but the supports and roof are identical.

Re: Ezgo roof weight limits
I wouldn't be afraid to transport the lighter objects, like your paddle board, but continuously transporting 60lbs on my roof using the stock supports without any extra bracing may causing stress cracks or failure sooner or later.

Re: Ezgo roof weight limits
My experienced observations reveal the roof supports are slightly stronger than needed for the plastic roof. They rarely fail but it does not take a lot of added weight to over stress the supports and failure is always in the form of strut breaks at the lower front bolt holes.

Re: Ezgo roof weight limits
I'm not saying it will collapse under 60 #
I'm just saying that over time the struts will fail. |
