Default RXV with bad brake

Can batteries on an RXV cause some type of problem with motor brake?
I no very little about this type cart. So I need some guidance. I know the brake is bad, just trying to find out why.

Thanks all
Sonny

Battery issues can cause motor brake issues on RXVs. Make sure to charge the batteries fully, maybe a few times in a row. Others should pop in here with more advice. What year RXV?

Brakes with lever are old and prone to problems

Tightening bolts too tight causes failure.

Slamming on brakes (Locking them up ) causes failure.

And yes battery issues cause failure (see rxv brake problem III post)

Proper install and sensible driving of cart usually solves problem.

The cart is a 2012.
Can someone give a little more information on how batteries cause brake problems. Only problem with batteries, one had to be tapped. Cable was loose at some point in time and burnt post, but that has been a long time ago.

Thanks all

When a battery voltage in a rxv drops faster than expected, the rxv shuts down unexpectedly. Any time a rxv brake locks up while in motion, damage is done. After a couple of these, the brake is bad. Rxv is very sensitive about battery condition.

Thanks for the replies.
I have just not worked on many or very few. Don't know anything about them.
Now, I have one other question. Why does the axel nut come loose ? This one has never been off, but it was very loose(finger loose). and can it be prevented?

Thanks
Sonny

This should be considered part of routine maintenance on any Ezgo. That's just how it goes. But, having said that, the Ezgo teacher guy told us to go ahead and torque it down a little tighter than the book says.

This will sound like a smart answer, but it's on the end of each axel that holds the rear hub on. Not a hub on the rxv not sure what it's called. Thing that holds the wheel on.
Hope this helps.

Sonny

PS Thanks cg.

It is a hub, it doesn't have the brake drum Integrated into it like the TXT does. It is the part that the wheel bolts on to.
