Default 36v to 48v conversion question

I might be overthinking this. Late 90s 36v txt that I am converting to 48v. Researched and can't find the answer I need. Using stock D style port and every good charger I see had the RXV plug or if it has the D plug, it's a low amp charger.

What have others done when converting in regards to chargers and ports?

Also does anyone have feedback on the SCHSE-1072 from batteries plus?

Use the original 36v charge receptacle for 48v in all cases because the amperage running through the receptacle is less for 48v than it is for 36v.

Secondly do not buy a 48v charger with very low amps. Golf cart batteries require nearly 10% of their capacity in amperage for proper bulk charging. That is 17 amps charging for a 170 amp battery. Failure to provide a heavy bulk charge rate will shorten the useful life of the battery.

I hope this helps

Exactly what I was looking for. Is the current gauge wiring in the receptacle good enough to handle the charging amperage (I'm guessing yes assuming 48v is less amperage to the pack ).

Also, what advice do you have for converting a 48v charger to a D plug? All the ones I find readily available for purchase have the rxv style plug

I have a 99 dcs. I converted mine to 48 volts. All I did was swap the charging receptical from my 36 volt charger to my 48 volt charger. Nothing else.
