Just to give an update and close out this thread, it was the controller. Ordered a conversion from FSIP that converts to a new GE regen 2 controller and she runs like a champ. joesam if and when yours go, that would be the way to go. Much cheaper than the IQ conversion. This is pretty much plug and play, and you don't have to change the harness.

Did you get a higher top speed than 14mph after install? I'm asking because many years ago when one Regen 1 owner converted, he claimed 19mph with the FSIP conversion, but that seemed unlikely to me.

I'll let you know know tomorrow. The pack voltage was down, and I wasn't impressed with the speed. I got the 350 amp controller. Pack voltage was 48, so it was pretty low.

Thx. Just wondered. Higher amps would do much better with 4ga cable but that would show up more on hill climbing rather than flat out.

Your exactly right. Not much difference in speed, but on a mild hill it didn't even slow up any.
