i use a 5x8 but i had to modify the tailgate. lengthwise 8' is gonna be too short.

5 feet wide would be the minimum, [6' is better], for stability as mentioned, but also for backing up. Not sure what you are pulling it with but being able to see it behind you BEFORE it is turned beyond recovery makes it a lot easier. You don't want to look like a tool that needs Ford's backup assist to park a little utility trailer! Just lookin' out for a fellow Canuk.
