Erratic Throttle Issues
I just upgraded to an Alltrax XCT with an A4 motor.
I've noticed that the throttle is erratic when you push it to the floor. At top speeds, it will suddenly back off...when I watch the throttle % on the monitor, it will be at 90 and then suddenly jump down to 41% and then back up again...jump around the whole time. What might this be...bad signal from throttle? On a potentially unrelated note, whoever had the cart before me has some wired where the cart runs with or without a key whether its on/off. |

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
That would definitely be the sign of a bad MCOR (potentiometer is faulty)
One way we try to test them is to cut the key off, pump the pedal to the floor ~30 times or so, and then try it again. Most times it will work correctly for a little while and if so, you have confirmed the problem. |

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
And the XCT auto learns the throttle so you can always go into the tool kit and under the Controller Tab, click "Clear Auto-Cal" and then let it relearn it again.

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
Its a 2006 DS...is it just held to the frame with the screws and you just pull it off? Looks like I would need a conversion kit, correcT?

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
NolesFan...so my key doesn't turn the car off (the other problem). Should I do the same thing, but flip it to Tow?

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
You can as that will take the power to the controller out. You can also remove the pack Negative after going to Tow if there is any other wiring concerns present...
But I would get that fixed if it is a bad switch or what WM6 was referring too (I am not familiar with it). |

Re: Erratic Throttle Issues
I was able to fix the throttle issue following the instructions found here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-mcor-fix.html
