Re: Chevy Volt lithium transplant to Club Car Precident
Dennis, How did you get the ~58vdc? I looked into the Volts a few months ago and with a 48 volt pack I could get a max of 50.0vdc. There was thought of a 60 volt pack and de-tuning it, but ended up going the the Nissan Leafs instead.

I would scare the piss out of myself taking a dremel to a LiOn pack.

Re: Chevy Volt lithium transplant to Club Car Precident
how would you wire up a bms with 14s? with the 12s you just use the factory plug, would you just use that then tap the last two cells and use a 16s bms of some kind? fixing to start this build. Just got me a wrecked volt!

Chevy Volt lithium transplant to Club Car Precident

Wiring the BMS won’t be a problem at all. It will just be a 14s Bms. One balance wire to each tab. I will need to use two BMS boards however, with the two separate packs. |

I find the most fascinating part of your build is the solar panel roof. Could you share the details on how you mounted it to the roof struts? I assume you ran the wires through the struts as well?
Seriously, well done. This is genius. |
