Positive in and positive output from light kit harness connect accordingly on switch. Then ground the switch to a ground buss bar that connects to female Black negative near battery.

Use voltage reducer to power your light harness.

I just wired my LED to 2 of my batteries, + to the 1st battery and - to the second, LED might be a bit brighter than normal but... I put a switch for it on the dash, I added a small 12V rear light into the circuit too.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but that is not good for the battery pack. Depending on how much you use the 12V system, you will be pulling more power from those two batteries than the others. After a period of time the pack becomes unbalanced and it will reduce the life of the pack. So, saving the cost of a reducer (not a huge amount) in the short term will cost more in the long term when the batteries need to be replaced earlier.

Depending of the power of your lights (especially if you install or add later a lightbar), I would use a relay.
