Update: front tire bouncing
Update on my front tire drivers side bouncing issue. Backstory-Installed 6” jakes spindle lift along with 23” tires on 12” rims. (Originally had low profile tires on same rims and didnt have the bounce.) Drivers front tire bounced at med speed. Had two tires reseeded, swapped tire with a rear tire, and then swapped hubs thinking that was the problem. Still getting bouncy tire.
Could bad front shocks be the issue? Would really appreciate some advice and help. Thank a million. |

Re: Update: front tire bouncing
Shocks are intended to dampen the motions, but won't cause it by themselves. Have you tried spinning the wheel/tire to look for run out? Does it bounce regardless of the road surface? Could even be an alignment issue: if the toe is out far enough the tire will be trying to roll over to the sidewall and "skip" every so often. Really common to have alignment issues after a lift install.

Re: Update: front tire bouncing
I have a similar issue, mine bumps smoothly up and down at any speed and on any road surface, I tried jacking a wheel up and spinning the tires to see if any appear out of round, did not see anything wrong, any other suggestions

Re: Update: front tire bouncing
after jacking up the front and spinning the wheels I ultimately discovered the tire was not seeded properly when in was put on the rim. I took it to my local tire shop who reseeded it and it runs smooth now. who would've thought.
thanks for advice and help Yurtle. |

Re: Update: front tire bouncing
It can happen. Even for someone who changes tires every day, all day long, they can miss it. Especially on smaller tires like golf cart tires.
Glad it is resolved. |
