2008 Precedent MCOR/throttle issue
Hello all, I have a 2008 precedent in the shop that is acting very strange.
#1 When you press the go pedal sometimes the cart doesnt move, when you release the pedal you hear the solenoid click on and off when the micro is released inside the mcor. ONLY WHILE REMOVING YOUR FOOT FROM THE PEDAL. Not while applying throttle. #2 whenever the cart does run it's like it's at 100% with only 1/4 throttle and then shuts down past that. #3 This usually points to an mcor issue. It's an 08 with an mcor2. Replaced the mcor with a new mcor2 and it's the same thing. Replaced it again with a shop mcor and it's the same. #4 Now I'm scratching my head. I jump the micro for the mcor just to see if its acting up and the cart starts going on it's own without pressing throttle. It does this with all 3 mcors. #5 Now I'm thinking controller is having issues, so I replaced the controller and the 2nd controller is acting exactly the same. What do you guys think is going on here. This is an odd one lol. |

Re: 2008 Precedent MCOR/throttle issue
Okay, outside of a short or gremlin we have not located, lets rule out the obvious - mechanical issues.
- Linkage bad or damaged? - Any upgrades or changes to the cart prior to this occurrence? - Cables to the motor damaged or crossed over? |

Re: 2008 Precedent MCOR/throttle issue
Okay so the craziest thing, the controller I took out of one of my carts that I am rebuilding that I picked up. Oddly enough when installed it was doing the exact same thing as the original controller. After checking continuity and testing everything across the board from controller to mcor I knew that it had to be in the controller. I took a 3rd controller out of one of my rentals and viola the cart runs fine now. Apparently the cart I picked up to build has a bad controller that acts exactly the same as the original controller. Very unlucky swap. Especially considering in my 6+ years of working on golf carts I've never seen this issue.

Re: 2008 Precedent MCOR/throttle issue
Is that a IQ or Excell cart?
If Excell, PH08 serial number, check the 3 resistors in the throttle harness. Edit: never mind glad you got it fixed. Last edited by Sergio; 11-06-2018 at 07:23 PM.. Reason: Solved already |

Re: 2008 Precedent MCOR/throttle issue
Its 08.5- so still has the IQ system. Before the common excel throttle resistor issue. After swapping the controller again as stated it started operating normal.
