The hub I removed from the cart had a metal dust cover and tapered bearings that fell out when I got wacked the hub off. The new replacement assembly I got also has a metal dust cover and tapered bearings. Hope this helps you guys figure out whats going with it. Seems like I should be good to go. I will take the advice and do my best to clean the spindle, it stops from sliding onto the spindle the moment it touches and all these videos I see online people just slide on the new assemblies onto the spindle so easily, makes me feel I'm doing something wrong/not right size hub by having to smash it on with a rubber mallet.

I uploaded pictures to show ya'll but this forum will not let me post links until I have been a member for 7 days. I'll make sure to post in a few days when it lets me.

Thanks again!
Then you have the correct hubs.
Does the spindle have any paint on it? If it has paint on it the bearing may not fit easily. Sand the paint down or completely off.
Use emery cloth or a file to knock down any rough spots.

Be sure to pack the new bearings with grease before assembly if they're not already.

That spindle looks like the new style to me. Hub should have sealed bearings.

I attached a picture of the old and new hub, can you tell from the picture if they have sealed bearings? You can see one of the beaings that fell out of the old hub sitting next to old cracked hub on the top of pic.

Those are not sealed bearings.

Did you clean all the old grime off? Is there rust on the spindle?
Should slide right on there.

That’s the old style.
New style spindles have much narrower threads on the end.

I have not cleaned old grime or even touched the spindle. There doesn't seem to be any rust, the way you see in the pic is how it is now. I am about to go to store and get emery cloth and clean it up real good. I really hope it slides on there, banging away on the mallet seems excessive.

Taking a look at the new and old hub picture I attached, would you say I got the correct hub assembly?

I will defer. I have never work on the older style. I though they had tapered spindles.

I wiped off the spindle and took a close up picture for you guys to check out. I don't see any rust, but there is definitely some kind of texture going on with small pits and crater/dents. Funny thing is that the old hub slid out at first and only gave me issues when I got to the end of the spindle, which is when I had to whack with a mallet to get off. Do y'all think I should be ok with the way spindle looks right now? Is it a must fix thing or could I ride it out for a while the way it's looking?
