2010 club car precedent slightly slow
Hi - got a 2010 club car precedent. Put in new 8v batteries and also installed the speed code 5. Cart is topping out at 18 mph or so. Before speed code 5 it had speed code 4 and was topping out about 17 mph. My understanding is it should be going in the 20s. Also have new tires on it. All else stock. Any idea why it isn’t reaching the 20s mph? Thanks in advance!

Re: 2010 club car precedent slightly slow
There is no speed code 5 technically. If you want above 19mph you’ll need to upgrade your controller set up or motor set up. Your stock Curtis controller limits the amount of current flow and revolutions allowed which limit top speed.

Several reasons that could also be holding your cart back speed wise are tires under inflated, brakes dragging, wheel bearings are in poor condition, weight being carried etc... Besides your really not likely to get into the 20's with a stock cart as its only got just so much *** not matter what the SC installed will allow. |
