1972 Caroche Charging Cart Relay Clicking
Hello,
Bought one of these Lester II 36 volt automatic chargers to get this 1973 Caroche I have going. When I plug it in the relay on the cart just starts clicking every 2 seconds or so. Then sometimes the charger starts clicking and I seems to go randomly back and forth like that. I let it do this for a couple minuted then disconnected the charger. Any thoughts on this? Do I just let is do this? Am I missing something? Maybe a part? I realize the old carts just had a timed charger. Not sure how these auto-chargers work with the older carts? Thanks! mark |

Re: 1972 Caroche Charging Cart Relay Clicking
I'm not familiar with the carts that old so I don't know what the relay is for, but something is not connected right and the charger will not work the way it is.
The charge wires on the cart should be connected straight to Battery Pack + and -. If it has a charger interlock relay, the wiring for that will probably have to be modified to work properly with the Summit II. What kind of plug did you install on the charger? How many pins? Do you have Pack voltage present at the charge receptacle with the charger unplugged? Where are the wires for this relay connected? |
