ezgo shuttle going slow (7 MPH) with new batteries, controller, speed sensor, etc
I have acquired what was suppose to be a cart that only needed new batteries. Long story short more or less everything had to be changed.
What has been done by Interstate Golf Cars in Hammond LA. New 8v Duracell Batteries (6) New Alltrax 48400 Controller New Solenoid New Inductive Throttle All new battery cables New Speed Sensor - this was lying on top of the motor and facing the ground. It was not in the end of the motor as i have seen in pics. New Lester Electrical on board charger Issue - The cart flies off the line all the way to 7 MPH. It has a ton of torque but no top speed. What has been done - I went into the controller and adjusted the speed range to 100%. I did not adjust the Max RPM as i did not know the max RPM of the SEPEX motor. There has been no change from the 50% on the max speed to the 100%. Could the cart think that it is in reverse and thereby limiting the max speed? Thanks! |

They drove it around front and lined it up to put it on the trailer. They told me it ran amazing and would be really fast and fun if i put a 12hp motor on it vs. keeping the stock motor since i had got the 400amp Alltrax.

How about throttle %? I know ScottyB said it takes a few tries for the controller to learn it. id wait and let either scott or johnny chime in though. Pics of the toolkit might help.

Re: ezgo shuttle going slow (7 MPH) with new batteries, controller, speed sensor, etc
Quote:
Try it with speed sensor set to 4 Pole. ------------- What is your tire height? (stock is 18" tall) Specs indicate a shuttle-4/6 has a 14.7:1 gears and 18" tall tires, so at 7MPH the motor is only spinning at 1922RPM. --------------- If your motor is like most stock, standard speed, EZGO motors, it will max out at about 5600RPM, which is about 20MPH with 14.7:1 gears and 18" tall tires, but there are many other factors that determine top speed. Also, with the heavy cart, it may be a high torque motor, which is not as fast as a standard speed, but it still ought to e faster than the top speed with a stock controller, which is 13.5MPH. ---------- Record a data log and post it here. (Continuous sample rate) Zip the .csv file and post the resulting .zip file. |
