96 Club Car DS Brakes grabbing
Good morning everybody. I have a lifted '96 Club Car DS. My brakes lock up and kick back when I barely hit the brake pedal. It started out of the blue. I've seen posts with the Axle Roll problem due to the U Bolts not being tight. I've checked mine and they are tight (I put a socket on them and had little to no movement on the nut). What else can I check? I am a novice when it comes to golf carts but I'm handy with a wrench. Thanks in advance.

Check your brake cables. Usually the DS is ok with a lift, but yours may have pulled too tight. There is some adjustment in the middle if you follow the cable up to below the seat.

Re: 96 Club Car DS Brakes grabbing
Do you have a single u-bolt per side, or two on each side? The single set up is more prone to axle twist.
You can always do the 'brake flip' to eliminate this problem, plus it raises the cables, preventing them from snagging on things. https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=86998 |
