Default 2007 club car ds solenoid double click no movement

I have a 48v 2007 club car ds, it has the rocker switch for forward and reverse. What's happening is I put the cart into forward and when I put the pedal down the solenoid clicks then clicks again a couple seconds later. Any ideas what that could be? If it helps the cart was working and then I unplugged the speed sensor to do a lift kit, plugged it back in and I have nothing

Sounds like you pulled the field wires off the controller. Put cart in Tow unhook main negative and positive battery cables. Pull cover off controller and put wires back on.

For the short time that the solenoid is engaged there is a humming noise coming from the motor

I would not try to press the pedal anymore until you check the wires.

I just worked on a Club Car, that had only reverse. So I'm very new to this DC electric car stuff, but did a series of tests, first the FnR switch was bad, replaced, no success. I checked motor itself to verify forward did work. Went to pedal assembly and found the purple wire was green and giving various readings on volt meter, took plug itself apart and cut back the wire to copper and soldered the connections. Verified all 3 wire tests on pedal, ( even though I only needed 1) to conclude that it was the speed Controller. But I wanted to make sure before telling the owner to spend 300+ . Just to double make sure it was the speed Controller, I ran the test on the speed Controller...lol.
