Default Installed heavy a heavy duty solenoid won’t go into reverse once it gets warm.

Hey guy I just recently bought a 2001 ezgo txt. I was having trouble with the solenoid so I installed a new Heavy duty sw180 solenoid and so far my previous problem is fixed. However I now have a new problem when putting the golf cart into reverse after driving it around for awhile (once it gets warm) it would not go into reverse. You could still here the solenoid click so I know that’s not it. I have not had a problem with it not going into reverse and the forward reverse switch is brand new. I installed it a few weeks ago. The previous owner bought it on amazon and gave it to me still in plastic and still in the box. It is made by 10lol and claims to be heavy duty. It looks exactly like the old forward reverse switch and after reading multiple reviews it looks like it might not be heavy duty. Do I need to buy a new heavy duty forward reverse switch? Or what else could be the problem? I’ve heard that with a heavy duty solenoid you should have a heavy duty forward reverse switch. Thanks in advance.

Did this problem start after you replaced the F/R switch? Possibly the switch needs to be adjusted to make sure it is going all the way to the stops in forward and reverse?

No this problem only occurred after the heavy duty solenoid was installed. Before that it had no problems. It will go into reverse when it’s cool it will just stop going into reverse after driving it around for 20-30min. I’m thinking it needs a heavy duty forward reverse switch.

I will say this, the main solenoid itself has no idea what direction you might have selected, it only knows "yes power" & "no power". The main solenoid dont know squat about direction. And I say "main" because some carts use 2 more to select directions (doesnt sound like yours has more than one). If it used more than 1, they would all be the same size, and easily spotted (they arent "little ones hiding out somewhere").
