Default should constant duty solenoid get hot?

I got the right constant duty solenoid for my 93 gas ezgo. The solenoid heats up when the cart is on for about 5 min. Is this normal? If not what could be the cause?

They will get warm but not so hot you cant touch it. Heat comes from bad connections. Make sure all your cables are good. Once one starts to burn you have to replace it cause its not going to last.
