The key plate is simple to get off. Push the center out of those 2 bottom plastic ribets and then it will fall out. Use the key switch to pull it out. I buy key switch at Wall Mart and replace it.

Just go to the dealer and get a key. I am sure they may have one laying around. If it works, great, go back and buy a second one. If not no biggie.

Stopped in at the local EZ Go dealer at lunch. He gave me a couple of the standard keys marked "1919" for free. Worked like a charm...

There is no EZ Go stamp on it just 1919...

Mine are Ezgo stock keys from E-Z-GO.

Maybe the "1919" keys are aftermarket?
