Battery post gone
A loose wire destroyed a battery post on my EZGO 36V cart. I found a fix on this site and have done that. I drilled into the remaining lead and tapped it for a 5/16" setscrew. I could not find the suggested setscrew so I purchased a threaded rod. My question is, will this last for a while, I am concerned about the dissimilar metals corrosion that happens. Can I place a new battery into an old battery pack? We used to parallel the batteries in Locomotive packs and get them to equalize then connect them back in series and that seemed to work OK.

Re: Battery post gone
How old is the pack? If it's over two years old I would try and find a used battery to go in it's place.

Re: Battery post gone
The cart is a 2008, I assume the batteries are origional. I just ordered a set of battery connector wires from EZGO, I have some #4 welding cable to make the rest of the big wires as soon as I find terminals.
Thanks |
