EZ Go electric only goes in reverse

I have a 2005 ez go 36 volt cart ,that i recently changed the f&r switch on. When i tried to move the cart it wouldn't go forward,only goes in reverse..I double checked all wiring and connections,BUT still "no go".. The repair manual that i have shows two different wiring diagrams,and is rather confusing..Also i made a diagram of the wires i removed and put them back just the way they came off...I AM STUMPED ! PLEASE HELP,,SOMEONE...

The repair manual has two different "wiring diagrams" because the 2005 model year carts with the TXT body style had two different types drive systems.

If the F/R control is a lever by the driver's right knee, it has a series wound motor and is commonly referred to as a series cart.

If the F/R control is a rocker switch on the dash and there is a Run/Tow switch on the controller cover, it is a PDS cart.

If you have a series drive, the problem is in the F/R switch assembly.
If you have a PDS drive, the problem is in the F/R switch or the controller.

Which type drive do you have?

It is a series cart, Also I tried reversing the wires on the B and D posts on the switch and i got forward and no reverse,, SO are you saying that the switch is N G ?

The shift linkage may need adjustment. The F&R may not be going fully 'into' the forward position resulting in a misalignment of the contacts. The shift linkage adjustment is made by moving the F&R 'east or west' in the slotted mounting holes.

Does the solenoid click when the pedal is pushed in Forward?

If it doesn't, the cam of the F/R switch either isn't rotating far enough to for the roller on the lever on MS-2 to drop into the indention on the cam's periphery, the indention is filled with debris or MS-2 is misaligned.

If the solenoid does click, either the F/R switch's high current contacts aren't lining up properly.

FWIW: The only electrical difference between forward and reverse in a series cart is the direction of current flow in the stator windings. Which contacts touch which contacts in the F/R switch determines which way the stator current flows. If motor turns in one direction, but not the other, either tyhe F/R contacts are not making contact in both directions or the solenoid contacts aren't closing in both directions.

The way I adjusted mine was to place the FNR exactly in Neutral - half way between F and R - then moving it until the FNR knob was exactly vertical.
