Re: Txt slow in forward
Basically, with a PDS cart, all the same components are used in both Forward and reverse.
(The difference between F and R is the direction of current flow in the field windings, which is switched inside the controller) Check for worn through insulation on the F1 & F2 wires where they are routed around the battery box frame. |

Re: Txt slow in forward
Looks like the cables are ok. But for good measures I ordered some 2g cables and a new f/r switch. It won't be in until next week,so we will have to wait and see if that's the fix I needed. Do you think the solinoed could be bad even thought it looks really new?

Re: Txt slow in forward
The stock solenoid is rated at something like 85A and the stock PDS controller will pass 300A, so they are a marginal pairing right from the factory?
I ran a stock controller with 2Ga cables for over a year without any issues, so unless it gets hot, you'll probably be okay with it for a while. When/if you upgrade the controller, go to at least a 200A solenoid, or you could go with a 400A solenoid that work with 36V and 48V and anything in between, and be prepared for future upgrades. |

Re: Txt slow in forward
Did you try Diagnostic mode?
Turn your key off, flip neutral to reverse five times, first series of beeps is speed chip, then goes in to diagnostics. Beep code explanation should be on controller cover by run/tow switch. |

Wow, I had no idea of a diagnostic mode. I'll try it as soon as I get home to see what it does. Thanks Jason |

The attached is a bit easy to read than standing on your head with an magnifying glass.

Re: Txt slow in forward
If I read the sticker correctly ,I will need to jack up the rear to perform the test. Does this sound right?

Re: Txt slow in forward
That is what it says for the first nine, however for the last six, the cart is on ground and driven.
Basically, for the first nine codes will occur with the rear wheel off the ground, but cart has to be driven to get the last six codes. Just put it in diagnostic mode and drive the cart. All codes will occur when driven, the first nine will also occur with the wheels spinning in the air. When troubleshooting and working on cart, it is best to put rear end of cart on jack stands so it doesn't take off unexpectedly and run over someone or something. |
