Default Re: 99 TXT DSC will not run and beeps when key is off

Need some info, the 99RedTXT is mine, and I just had to replace my batteries due to age. But the last time I was riding it, I was coming up a hill and it just stopped. I replaced the batteries tonight and still nothing, I have the 400 amp Alltrax (DCX400) 36-48v programmable controller with a 200a continuous/800a peak Solenoid in 36 volt. With the key off the controllers green light is solid and on. Any ideas?

Sounds like two separate problems, but they may be related somehow.

To get the DCX400 to power up, you have to have 36V on pins 6, 9 & 10.
Pin-6 get its voltage from the solenoid's small terminal with three wires on it, which in turn gets its voltage from the keyswitch.

The attached schematic, which depicts a stock DCS drive, but a DCX in a DCS is wired the same, has the voltage path to Pin-6 highlighted. Turning the keyswitch OFF, or putting the F/R in neutral, or putting Run/Tow switch in Tow, ought to power down the controller.

Either pin-6 is getting voltage from someplace it isn't supposed to be getting it, or the controller is bad.

---------
Not running: Does the solenoid click when pedal is pushed?

If so we need to troubleshoot the high current circuit.

IF it doesn't click, check the pedal switch. (Pin-5)
