Default "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?

I have a 36v Series TXT that is EXTREMELY FAST (34 MPH) with awesome acceleration.

I want my 14 year old daughter to be able to use the cart, BUT I want some way to limit the speed when she does. Any ideas on some type of governor I can put on my cart that is either key or code operated? Kind of like the "valet" keys that cars come with now.

Thanks.

If it is an Alltrax control put the 1/2 speed option on a toggle switch

Others have proposed a removable carriage bolt mounted under the gas pedal, to limit pedal travel. Won't help downhill though.

Or some type of resistor switched inline for the throttle signal?

That's what I did for my gas gauge in high school, so I was always on empty, and folks who needed a ride had to cough up gas money. I used a hidden pot, so I could crank it up for real readings.

Yeah, 50 cents a gallon was way too expensive back then.

It has an Alltrax AXE 4844. On the 4844 diagram, I don't see a 1/2 speed terminal, only a 1/2 speed reverse terminal.

That is the same thing - they just use it in reverse. You can activate it by simply putting 36v (+) to the orange wire with a toggle switch

So I would just run a wire from the last positive in the series of batteries to the 1/2 speed terminal and put the toggle between the + and the terminal?

Scotty B, I'm still a little confused. So I would run another wire from the positive terminal on my battery pack and splice it into the orange wire connected to the 1/2 speed orange wire. The toggle would be in between the + terminal and the 1/2 speed wire?
