Default 92 ezgo upgraded control and solenoid will not go

I just out scottybs 700 amp kit on my 36v cart and it ran fine for a couple days but now will not move i hear solenoid click but nothing happens. Getting 37.9 volts on one side of solenoid and 25 on other would this be a bad resistor and if so what could cause this? Thanks

Sounds like a bad solenoid. A bad resistor would not cause this.

Update. I checked again this morning. Voltage at solenoid is 37.9 on other side 20.9. With solenoid engaged both sides read 37.9. Still nothing happening. Any ideas?

I would check the motor itself to see if it works. Check this link out: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...r-testing.html

This diagram just worked for me to test my ez go motor.

Once you rule out the motor then you can move backwards...

Thanks guys turns out it was issue with f and r switch. Cart is back going but i still only have about 28v on controller side of solenoid with key on and no throttle. Trying to figure out that its my understanding that it should be no more than 3v less than battery side of solenoid

The voltage drop is caused by the pre-charge resistor connected across the solenoid contacts to get the controller charged up ready to go when you press the pedal. This voltage drop would depend on what the controller draws. It is probably nothing to worry about as long as you get full battery voltage when the solenoid is energized and the cart performs like it should.

ok wasn't sure if that was an indication there is an issue with controller. it is a fsip 700 amp controller

According to your voltage measurements you have a 9.9 volt drop across the solenoid contacts when the cart is switched on. Depending on the pre-charge resistor value connected across the contacts (typical 250 - 280 ohms) the current draw by the controller through the resistor calculates to be between .0353 - .0396 amps. Check with the controller vendor but I think this would be acceptable standby current for a heavy duty controller.
