Re: PDS Slower after Alltrax Install
Considering my future upgrade plans, that's good to know, Yurtle. Thanks

Re: PDS Slower after Alltrax Install
Or at least count the number of times the LED flashes before it turns solid Green. Should flash four times if the ITS throttle type is selected.
--------------- Also noticed you have an Imaginative Manufacturing 2-Speed differential installed. (High = 10:1 Low = 20:1) Is it possible the control got bumped and it is in the Low position? ------------ Are any high current cables or connections getting hot? ------------ What is the pack voltage when running at max speed? ------------ What is the voltage between the M- and B- terminals on controller when running at max speed? |

Re: PDS Slower after Alltrax Install
It's also curious that your 10:1 ratio is 20+% higher than the stock 12.44:1 - yet you speed is 25% or so slower
What is the working pack voltage dropping to when you are running down the street WOT? What is the motor and what is it's rated rpm at 36v ? I'm sorry if you already answered these questions...... I'm thinking out loud for my and Johnnie's benefit. |

When you subtract the 33% increase from the 60% decrease, you get 27%, which is roughly the 25% decrease he is experiencing and that is why I ask if the 2-speed differential might have inadvertently gotten changed to the low speed mode. ------------- @ alwaysinagm, what is the tire height? Physically measure them, the numbers embossed on the sidewall can be off by an inch or more. |

Re: PDS Slower after Alltrax Install
OK, some good news and some very bad news ... the controller did indeed flash four flashes before going solid green, so good there. Also, confirmed the rear end was not in low gear. I don't have the electronic shift option, so it's very easy to confirm.
Bad news - the controller just bit the dust. Just did a quick 1 block lap again and pulling it back into the garage and snap, crackle, pop & smoke as I pulled it in. Red flashing LED now (6 flashes). Smoked and crackled enough it's definitely toast. Didn't even get around to trying to check that the LED went amber at WOT position yet. Is it possible this unit was just bad? I noticed it was not set at the factory settings when I got it, so could it be a refurb unit or something?? Clarifying -- definitely not accusing ScottyB of anything, just didn't know if Alltrax did that kind of thing. Thoughts? |

Re: PDS Slower after Alltrax Install
OK, so ScottyB hooked me up, working out the exchange for my new controller with Alltrax. While that was going on, I went ahead and sent the motor out to Plumquick, and they turned it around even faster than Alltrax turned the controller exchange! Kudos to all 3 - Carts Unlimited, Alltrax, and Plumquick. Also ordered some new HD rear springs with bushings while waiting on the controller, since the rear seat had the original springs sagging a bit.
Hopefully the combo responds as expected and it was actually a bad controller and not my cart. Plumquick did verify that there was no damage to the motor. I'll post an update when I'm done. Looks like I have my plans for this evening ... |

Before you install anything check for frayed cables or wires between the motor and controller , see below
