Identify this cart system
Working on an ezgo L499 for a lifelong friend . It is 4wd all electric off road . It is powered by 8 6volt batteries and has a Logisystems controller . The cart has 1 Bad Boy Buggies decal on it . The cart just stopped and would only click . I am capable of following an electrical schematic but have found no electrical that matches this cart . Please identify this system so we can talk apples to apples in solving the electrical issues . Thanks !

Re: Identify this cart system
Need year and model and a picture of the battery area with controller. Over view of the electronics would be nice also in the picture.

Re: Identify this cart system
It sounds like a Bad Boy Buggy which is built on the Ezgo platform.

Re: Identify this cart system
From your pictures it looks as if it is in deed a bad boy buggie. If it's clicking but not doing any thing I would suggest jacking it up off the ground make sure it can't move. On the controller you have 3 small wires. White, black and the other one I can't make out the color. Take that one loose and see if you have power to the controller. If not work your way back to where you do. What throttle does it have?
Another test. With it turned off ,jumper the two big terminals and see if it runs. If so swap out the contactor. Do not run it long just tap the pedal and see if the wheels turn. If so then it's the contactor. |

Re: Identify this cart system
Thanks so much for the responce ! I am not that familiar with golf cart wiring but can handle basic a/c and d/c wiring . I admire yall's ability on these things because some of it just ain't logical . lol .
Because of my inability to find a wiring diagram for this cart I started tracing the wires source and destination . I found the original reason that it stopped , which was the 48 volt supply wire to the accelerator switch had shorted out to one of the potentiometer wires going to the controller . To answer your question about which accelerator is on the cart it's a 4 wire . As best I can tell 1 wire is the 48 volt supply to the pedal ,( this is the one that shorted ) The 2nd wire carries 48 volts from the pedal switch to the controller ( the controller does receive the 48 v to one of the small terminals when the pedal is pushed ) The other 2 wires are supposed to go to the potentiomer in the pedal ( I think ) They show no continuity and no change in resistance when the pedal is pushed .ne of these had shorted to the pedals 48 volt supply . The second small terminal on the controller shows 4.6 or 4.7 volts when the 48 volt signal from the pedal is on . Sorry about being so long winded but I don't know where to proceed from here . |

Re: Identify this cart system
Thanks Andy
Does this Logisystems controller use a standard pot in the go pedal and do you know what the base signal voltage sent to the pot should be ? |
