Default Equalizing charge question

I have 6 trojan t-875 8V batteries.

5 batteries, after full charge, have individual voltage between 8.6 and 8.7. Their specific gravity are in the green range.

1 battery, after full charge has voltage of 8.1 and the specific gravity is fair in the white zone. Even with temp adjustment.

My question is should I equalize charge the whole 6 pack? Just the 1? Or don't worry?

What's hooked up to that individual battery? It needs to be brought up to match the others, and I don't think they are close enough for equalization charges to handle it.

That battery is #3 in the series of 6. Nothing attached to it.

What are your stabilezed battery voltages 24 hours after charging? How old are your batteries? Look like you have one VERY weak battery.

Woot woot. Did the equalizer to the weak battery and it turn out nice. (Thanks to people here and Trojan battery.) Trojan recommended just an over charge to the week one. They also recommended 12v 25a for 90 (supervised) minutes. Meaning checking the battery with volt meter. I stopped at the 60 minute mark and the 8v registered 9.1v. But shortly after I cleaned up it was holding at 8.6v like my other 5.

My only issue was reconnecting the 2 battery cables I removed. The neg was sparking. The brain trust here showed me the repair manual. And the B- neg last was the answer to solve the spark. Thanks for the help.

So now I'm thinking of equalizing like the trojan specs recommend. Is that what everyone else does?

After charging, a battery takes at least 24 hours to reach a stabilized voltage. On my 9 month old Trojan battery pack, I find that it actually takes 2 to 3 days to reach a fairly stable pack voltage ... that was winter charging with a cart storage temperature of about 40 F (I am not sure how temperature affects battery stabilization time).

Unless the voltage of all of your batteries are stabilized, it is difficult to make a recommendation on your forward plan for balancing your battery pack.

I imagine that charging your weak 8 volt battery for 1 hour with a 12 volt charger did "stir up the juices", but you will need to compare the weak battery "stable voltage" to the "stable voltage" of the other members of the pack. When you do that, you should be able to determine how much progress you have made in resurrecting the weak battery. I suspect that 1 hour of "super charging" a weak battery will not be enough to make a big difference (based on my experience with trying to de-sulfate weak batteries in my previous battery pack).

How old are your batteries?

Find attached a State of Charge chart for your reference.

Did Trojan mention a max on-charge voltage, or just a 90 minute max time at 25A?
