Also, yes to your question about following the throttle test in the stickies. Using the attachment for DCS carts which from what I've read matches the series carts.

OK. I'd either measure right at the controller, or at least unplug/replug the Molex a few times, spraying contact cleaner. I'm not familiar with that controller. Does it have an LED, to see if it's powering up?

Ok, when the micro switch clicks on in the pedal box, and the key is on, the controller puts 14 volts through the black wire to the ITS. However, there's nothing on the white wire even when I push the pedal to the floor. The guy checking has a faulty volt meter, we determined. This tells me the ITS is probably bad. What do y'all think?

I agree. 14 v is usually a bad ITS but a bad ITS is pretty rare thing. What controller are you asking about... ask your friend to replace the battery in his meter. That should fix it.

The battery was about dead in his meter. Fixed that. It has the stock controller. I rode out to his house and started checking stuff myself. Since I can now confirm the Curtis controller is putting volts to the ITS and nothing is showing in the white wire that it's a bad ITS. What do you think? He's probably going to order one.

I wanted to post a follow up to this thread. It was indeed a bad ITS. Put a new one in and it now works perfectly. Thanks for all the help!
