Default Freedom mode lost

Hello
Is it possible to loose freedom mode after disconnecting the batteries?
I added a battery meter and it feels like I am not getting the same speeds.

its a 2015 RXV, when I bought it the guy said that he installed the speed boost.
From what I have read is that he just unlocked it with a passkey.
I installed a battery meter( not the plug and play one), every thing powered up fine meter works, just doesn't seem to be getting the same top speed.
I am wondering if when I tied the battery meter into the batteries did I reset the controller to default or does it hold the programming

The controller holds Freedom Mode through power outages, but working on the electricals without putting the RXV run/tow switch in tow mode prior to disconnecting the battery pack can corrupt the controller...

I have had a certain amount of success in uncorrupting Curtis RXV controllers that have been corrupted in this manner.

I thought the same thing,

Oops, I installed stuff in a way that RXV doesn't like.

BTW, just where did you connect that new meter?

I did put it in tow mode. I attached it across the positive and negative for the meter and tied the key switch lead to 48v switched spare wire in the dash, I think it is for accessories.

I am going to try this and get into the program. Just ordered the parts to make the cable and I have sourced out the software. Hopefully by next weekend I'll have it all dialed in

Connecting wires to the keyswitch wires or SOC guage wires is a sure-fire way of screwing up your controller. They are all logic lines, some 48V and one 5V.

I was waiting for you to tell them. People don't seem to like me telling them they screwed up.

Good luck! I developed that cable setup and released the information in the Programming Curtis Controller thread. The OP in the thread you linked, left out some critical information required to get the registry configured. I made a post there providing the missing information. When finished, if done correctly, you will have an OEM level cable. High enough to adjust certain parameters, but not high enough to do what I do.

As I mentioned there, Curtis has already introduced countermeasures to prevent that cable from working on the new controllers. That's what happens when proprietary information is spread widely on the internet without regard to the implications.
