I don't know anything about RXVs, but don't you at least need to put it in tow?
After reading about folks who didn't follow the manual, and blowing their controllers, I'd do what it says. |

Exactly! You need to SAFE the controller before doing any electrical work. With the key off, place the run/tow swith in tow. Leaving it in tow, you can disconnect one or both battery cables, as needed. Leaving it in tow, perform your wiring changes. Leave it in tow while you reconnect the battery cable(s). Then you can switch it from tow to run. Not safing the controller can result in controller damage if you mess with the wiring, including just changing battery cables.
