Smile Ez go txt won’t go after going slow

So this morning we were in a parade with my golf cart. Ez go txt 36v pds). Of course we are moving at snails pace barely pushing the accelerator. When I when to speed up it would budge actually slowed down. I stopped, turned it off put it in the neutral and started back up worked just fine. Then again went super slow and tried to speed up and nothing. FYI the batteries are charged and new it has a radio. I drove for an hour at normal speeds afterwards with no issues. Just going slow slow and speeding up.

Controller probably overheated and went into thermal cutback.

PDS carts don't like running slow and if the tires are taller than stock (18") they like it less.

Would an updated controller help with this or would this be a pds issue in general?

As JB mentioned the Carts do not do well in parades or any creeping activity like turkey hunting or viewing a swap meet. The cart draws the most amperage to get going. Slow going keeps the cart in this high amperage draw situation. The continued high amp draw creates excessive heat in the motor, F&R switch (series carts) and controller/solenoid. The heat damage from this activity is accumulative. Over time both the motor and the controller will be damaged.

One aftermarket controller comes with a cooling fan. This would help but generally you better off watching the parade than participating.
