Default Installed 350 Amp Controller RXV Not Working

Hello to all,

I recently installed a 350 Amp Controller and 6 8 Volt batteries in my 2013 RXV.

Controller was worked on by Bob Boyce who is awesome.

After installation and verifying all connections were the same as the stock controller I tried it.

All seems good and it starts and voltage reads correct.

When I turn it on in either Reverse or Forward unit will lurch and that is it. Will bot run in either reverse or forward.

Is there anything that I missed? Do you install the 350 amp controller the same as the stick one? Do I need to get other items?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all and to Bob for all your help.

Lurch usually indicates motor brake failure. Maybe the new controller "pushes" a little harder than the old one during the brake test, so it's now seen as a problem.

There are many threads about motor brake replacement, and I have contributed to many.

BTW, where in AZ you?

Only go OEM stock for motor brakes, never aftermarket. I have tried aftermarket & "rebuild kits", and never had one last more than a week, some never even pass the first test to operate one time.

Also, use the same type currently installed. The factory "standard duty" brake has a plug directly on the brake. The factory "Heavy Duty" brake has 2 short wires with a plug on the end.
