2004 EZGO TXT SERIES Upgrade questions
Hey all,
Doing a ground up rebuild and upgrade to 48volts on this cart. I bought from Scotty B:Motor package #3 which contains , New Admiral MotB1 torque motor,SR500 controller,2G cables,202 reversing contractor, new HD Solenoid, digital meter and brackets, etc I have a few questions: Motor : is it ready right out of the box? Is there any locking device or anything for the armature? I asked Scotty to preprogram my controller but I’m not sure this was done. I sent him an email but no response.(Im thinking he wants tech questions here ?) On the 202 contactor, there are two diodes to crimp and install. I know the red (banded,or positive )side goes to the + side of each spade lug,but which connectors out of the 4 on each side ? Is dielectric grease a good barrier for connectors? Should I crimp AND solder each one ? Since my cart wasn’t quite complete when I got it, o am starting from scratch. Does anyone recommend a certain order to install the parts ? I actually have the controller, contactor and solenoid already installed and am following his post on an upgrade he did, back in 2016 or so. Also the written instructions . Thanks for any feedback ! Quote:
#1. YES, its ready to go right out of the box. #2. If you told Scotty to program the controller, HE DID....the reason I say this, is that he sets up all the controllers for his customers needs unless he's told not to. #3. YES #4. Not sure which connections specifically you are talking about BUT you can't go wrong with crimped AND soldered connections. #5. well you already covered the install, if you are talking about hooking up all the wires....it truly doesn't make any difference as you aren't/shouldn't power your system up until your all done. I didn't answer the contactor question as I am not well versed on that area, as I am still running one of Scotty's HD F&R's |

Re: 2004 EZGO TXT SERIES Upgrade questions
Thank you Sir Nuke.
I will start on installing and adding wires.I think I have a decent handle on that part. Will post other questions as they come up. Have not heard back from Scotty yet. Hope all is ok with him. |
