Default powerwise QE 36v charger

Charger Has recently started fault code 2 red flashes pause 2 red flashes . I charged batteries up to 38 volts with another charger by connecting it directly to batt terminals because its an old style plug charger . NowI hooked QE back up doing same thing,I cleaned the plug terminals . But I am wondering how that little ground switch inside the male charging plug works . it is just a loop ? the little silver tab inside next to the positive terminal

This sounds like a bad charge port.
Chip or circuit board in charger port can go bad.

Try your charger on another cart.

if it works, check for corrosion on your carts charger to battery connections.
Check grey wire connection.

If all are good and battery voltage is above 40v, Replace charge port.

Good luck-- Keep us posted.

Sounds like you are referring the the Auxiliary contact in the Powerwise "D" type plug. (Item 36 in attached drawing)
The way it works is it touches the outside of the negative female terminal in the cart's charge receptacle.

If the auxiliary contact is not making good contact with the outside of the negative radsok, you'll get the 2 red flash error code, but could also be a bad charger.

It is a type of low mechanical tension, high current connector.
Maximum electrical contact with minimal insertions force.
