This stuff is relatively thin, red in color and I'm pretty sure I've seen it on new car battery terminals.

Pretty easily pinpointed and it seems to dry like paint. I especially like that it's not a greasy mess. Time will tell how well it's anti- corrosion properties work.
I had some stuff like that but it was some other brand I can't think of right now. At first I liked that it dried, problem was it would crack and corrosion got underneath it. I had to remove, clean, and wire brush ALL of the cables and terminals I used it on in two weeks to a month. It just didn't work for me. Your product may be better than what I used.

I ditched stuff quick that and started using CRC Battery Terminal Protector in the yellow can. Sprays on red and kinda thin, but it gets into all the crevices really well. I liked that as well. Never had any problems with corrosion while using it but it seemed to wash off after 2-3 times of rinsing the batteries off. Re-treating was easy but the terminals had to be dry.

I've since started using Permatex brand protector. Blue can, sprays on thick and purple and it kinda foams and bubbles after it goes on. Gets into everything really well and makes one hell of a mess, but once it thickens up it turns to heavy grease and it stays for a LONG time. Even after rinsing the batteries off multiple times its still there.

Absolute Best I've seen or used yet, but I don't buy it because it's expensive is the Club Car branded Gold battery terminal spray. My local cart guy carries it but it's like over $20 a can. It goes on similar to the Permatex stuff, but it turns into this super thick greasy coating that is almost like tar, you almost can't even take off with chemical cleaners. It stays on for years if you make sure the terminals are super clean and dry before spraying it on.

I kinda prefer the Permatex stuff just for the price. I think it was less than $5 a can last I got it. It's not a huge can, but it will do 3 or 4 full sets of batteries, and it stays on for long enough that I don't typically need to re-treat them halfway through the season.

I wouldn't suggest using the nylock nuts with the nylon insert on battery terminals. A regular SS nut tightened snug and checked periodically should do fine.

If you are talking about golf cart batteries (with the batteries under the seat), try keeping your seats tilted up when charging so the battery compartment is vented. The corrosion products that form can be the result of the gases given off during charging.

I personally have not had any problems with battery deposits forming on my cart when charging but I do keep my seats up.

On my truck (2011 F350 diesel), battery deposits seem to more of a problem compared to any of our other vehicles or equipment. I am now using the NOCO NCP with good results on the truck batteries. I sprayed it on heavy and it stayed tacky ... but no more corrosion in the past 6 months. Interesting enough, batteries in our Toyota van, Lexus SUV, tractor, skid steer, horse trailer or riding mower never experience battery corrosion issues ... just the F350!

I did some research on this a year or so back and found a bunch of conflicting information on why battery corrosion products form ... so it does not appear to be a well understood problem.
